Nicolás Cubero Completes Research Stay at SUSTech, China

We are pleased to announce that Nicolás Cubero, a PhD student within our research group, has successfully completed an international research stay at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China. During this period, Nicolás collaborated closely with the research group led by the distinguished Professor Shiqi Yu.

Professor Shiqi Yu is a globally recognized expert in computer vision and biometrics, particularly in gait recognition. His research group at SUSTech is at the cutting edge of developing technologies to identify individuals based on their unique walking patterns, a field with significant implications for security and smart surveillance.

This stay has provided Nicolás with the opportunity to immerse himself in one of the world’s most dynamic technological hubs. By working alongside top-tier international researchers, he has gained valuable insights into advanced pattern recognition and AI-driven biometric systems. This collaboration not only enriches Nicolás’s doctoral thesis but also strengthens our group’s international network and academic exchange with leading institutions in China.
