Our Research Group Featured on Canal Sur’s ‘Tesis’ Program

We are delighted to announce that two members of our research group were recently interviewed for «Tesis,» the specialized science program on Canal Sur. This opportunity highlights our commitment to public engagement and sharing the latest advancements in our field with a wider audience.

The segment, which is part of a series dedicated to showcasing research from Andalusian universities, focuses on our latest work: the development of an intelligent video surveillance system. This system utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) to recognize people, vehicles, and objects in real-time, even in large and complex environments.

Unlike conventional models, our system operates with minimal human supervision, is more autonomous and efficient, and runs on a low-power processor. Crucially, it improves privacy and sustainability by processing data locally, without sending it to the cloud. Validated with real-world airport images, this technology reduces analysis times from 7.4 seconds to just 0.2 seconds per frame.

We invite you to view the full segment to learn more about how our research is redefining the future of security with cameras that not only see but also think: https://www.canalsur.es/television/programas/tesis/noticia/2207635.html.
